Infectious Disease - Case #1

Case Report


59 year old female with a history of;

The patient subsequently developed radiation-induced stricture with dysphagia to solid foods. One evening while having a meal of steak and potatoes, she experienced acute, severe dysphagia to the point where she could not even swallow her own saliva. After she arrived at the hospital, a rigid esophagoscopy was performed with subsequent esophageal biopsy as well as the extraction of impacted food. The patient improved and was released the same day.
