GUIDELINES FOR COMPLETION
OF UT SYSTEM RISK MANAGEMENT EDUCATION PROGRAM
- Complete the risk management quiz based
on the "Medical-Legal Survival Manual:
A Risk Management Guide for the University
of Texas System Health Care Professionals."
The quiz must be taken online by accessing
the University of Texas System, Health Care
Quality and Risk Management web site: http://www.utsystem.edu/hcqrm
Completion of the quiz qualifies for 10 of
the required 15 hours.
- Attendance at departmental Morbidity &
Mortality Conference (1 hour for each hour
attended, dates should be documented.)
- Self-study by reading medical risk management
articles. You can read the articles on the
UT System web site "Hot Plate" page
at http://www.utsystem.edu/hcqrm.
Only 1 article will be available each month.
Articles are also available from the Office
of Medical Risk Management (1/2 hour for each
article.)
*Articles are aslo available for check out
in the Pathology Chairman's office (NB6.212).

- Self-study by watching risk management videos.
The Office of Medical Risk Management (B6.100,
ext. 84709) maintains videotaped presentations
for viewing. (1 hour for each hour viewed.)
- Additional activities are available to
earn credit. Contact the Office of Medical
Risk Management.
- Complete the Risk Management Education Verification
form indicating the types of activities undertaken
for completion of the elective hours. This
form, along with the exam certificate, must
be returned to your division administrator
