3. Coronary Atherosclerosis with Thrombosis - Gross
The lumen of the coronary artery is completely occluded by dark red
thrombus. Thrombosis in this case and in the arteries in general
results from damage to the endothelium. The most common and the most
important cause of arterial thrombosis is atherosclerosis, a disease
in which the intima is primarily involved. What are the other causes
of arterial thrombosis?
