4. Brain, Organizing Infarct - Low Power
We take microscopic sections of the lesions we find at brain cutting
conference. This is the microscopic appearance of the crumbly lesion
in the previous image. As an infarct organizes, neurons die,
macrophages phagocytize necrotic brain, and reactive astrocytes
appear. The background is vacuolated due to necrosis of neurons.
