5. Schwannoma - Low Power
The schwannoma is also called neurilemoma, particularly by dermatopathologists. At low power, you can see some of the characteristics of this generally benign neoplasm. Highly cellular areas (Antoni A) are predominantly present in this view, with pallisading nuclei (Verocay bodies). Verocay bodies are found virtually exclusively in Antoni A regions. Antoni A areas usually alternate with less cellular, Antoni B, areas, not seen in this view.
