Virtually the entire thickness of the cervical epithelium is affected
by dysplastic changes. Note the cellular and nuclear pleomorphism,
failure of normal and orderly differentiation, hyperchromatic nuclei,
and several mitotic figures extending toward the surface. Only the
very superficial cells appear to differentiate and flatten. Although
the basement membrane is not visible in this image, it is intact.

dysplasia?
