5. Lupus nephritis, wire loop lesion - Micro, High Power
The glomeruli are generally the major target of damage in lupus
nephritis, though interstitial and tubular changes are also frequent
(20-50% of patients). Note the thickened, hyalinized loops of
capillaries. In this case, is there a global or more segmental
involvement of the glomerulus?
