6. Lupus nephritis - Micro, High Power
The spectrum of histopathologic changes in lupus nephritis is extremely wide, and this is complicated by the fact that many changes are sequential and often not synchronized in all glomeruli. In progressive disease, the end result is the destruction of glomeruli. Here we see elements of early destruction. Fibrinoid necrosis is marked by loss of nuclei, loss of normal glomerular constituents, and the presence of scattered PMNs and karyorrhectic debris.
