3. Hepatocellular Carcinoma - Medium Power
This biopsy shows irregular trabeculae or cords of malignant
hepatocytes with enlarged nuclei, which contain nucleoli consistent
with a well-differentiated, hepatocellular carcinoma. While
cirrhosis, whatever it's cause, is an important contributor to the
development of hepatocellular carcinoma, there are certain diseases
that are strongly associated with development of this primary hepatic
malignancy. What are they?
