In alcoholic fatty liver, lipid accumulates within the cytoplasm of hepatocytes creating large, clear vacuolar spaces within cells in H and E stained sections. The nuclei in such cells are compressed to the periphery of the cell. If an individual, like the individual from whom this slide was taken, were to completely abstain from drinking alcohol in the future, what would happen to their liver? Answer
