6. Chorioamnionitis - Medium Power
Chorioamnionitis microscopically is characterized by a dense
infiltrate of maternal neutrophils into the fetal membranes. Note the
thin cuboidal layer of amnion along one edge of membranes. Where does
the inflammatory infiltrate originate?
